| Every year about this time, the Waxhaw Woman’s Club paints some pumpkins pink to support breast cancer awareness… Would you like to help? | ![]() |
It’s that time of year again when members of the Waxhaw Woman’s Club are out and about sourcing large orange squash, cans of pink spray paint, and treasure boxes full of shiny-sparkly-lacy-fuzzy things. We’re “turnin’ the pumpkins pink” again to support breast cancer awareness and research. If you’d like to help, please consider making a donation on the form below. The monies raised this year will be going to The Woman in Pink.
The 2025 Pink Pumpkin event will be held at the Woman’s Club in Waxhaw on Saturday, October 4th from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. or until the last pumpkin finds a home.

Hello!
My name is Whitney Prewitt and I teach art at Laurelwood Community Preschool. I’d love to have the kids paint a pumpkin or two next week. But I haven’t found any information on how to donate a pumpkin. Are you still accepting pumpkins? Ours would be a mix of pink paints and probably lots of glitter and pink rhinestones. I hope it’s something you would be interested in!
Please feel free to email or text/call me at (225) 936-3248
Hi Whitney. I’m so sorry that I didn’t see this sooner and get back to you in a timely manner. What a lovely idea to have preschoolers decorate a pumpkin. We haven’t (to my knowledge) accepted donations from sources out side of the club, but I can’t say the event chair would be opposed to that. Food Lion and Harris Teeter donate 150 pumpkins, and members of the club paint/decorate them before they go on sale. We run this event every year in early October. I will forward your comment on to the event chair and ask her to get back to you. While it’s too late for this year’s event, it’s never too early to start working towards next year’s!
Thanks for you interest in the Pink Pumpkin Patch!
